Carl Ludwig Huebschtuba, drums, composition

Born in 1966 in Freiburg.
Early musical encounters between Punk, Rock and local Brassband. Later studies at the highschool Freiburg. Diplomas in singing, drums and classic theory. Studies of Electronic Music. Lives in Cologne since 1990. Studies in composition and New Music with J Fritsch.

He composes and performs in concert halls, studios and theatres lending his talents to ensembles and orchestras. He`s well known for his unique solo concerts. He now concentrates on Improvised Music and Composition. He also leads Workshops for tuba and improvisation.

Since 89 he performed with such renowned musicians as Thomasz Stanko, Lester Bowie, Jasper van´t Hof, Paul Lovens, Ernst Reijseger a.m.o. He was member of numerous projects as:
- Arthur Blythe Quartett 1992 - Humanoise Congress Wiesbaden 1994 - Hannes Zerbe / Willem Breuker Blech Band - October Orchestra Amsterdam 1994 (featuring the ICP Ensemble and guests) - Lester Bowie`s Brass Fantasy 1995 and 1996 - RealTimeMusicMeeting 1999 - Matthias Schubert Sextett 1997, Jazzfest Berlin.
- 1997 studies with Ramamani from the Carnataka College of Percussion - 2000 solistic part in the chamber opera “Idyllen” by Thomas Beimel - 2000 Tour to Namibia - 2000 Tour USA / w Harald Kimmig - Since 1999 Huebsch works with his own trio (Huebsch / M.Schubert and W.Wierbos).

Huebsch´s work is documented in numerous radio and CD productions.
Carl Ludwig Hübsch has collected experience with theatre music in many productions in Germany and abroad 1996 „ Blauzone”, directed by Beat Fäh 2000 TheaterHora/Zürich + Blauzone: “Die Lust am Scheitern” (Fun to Fail)
