Born in 1972.
Studied music at the Hochschule der Kuenste in Amsterdam, in Rotterdam and at the Musikhochschule Koeln with Prof. Bart van Lier, Prof. Henning Berg and Paulo Alvares.

His work with dancers and multimedia artists – as well as with jazz, modern-music, and multicultural music groups at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Den Haag, the Worlport Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre, Tonhalle in Duesseldorf, and Concertgebouw and Ijesbreker in Amsterdam – is representative of the great variety and flexibility of his artistic work.

Matthias Muche has received numerous awards for his projects, including the Herford "Kulturfoerderpreis 2002," the Bielefeld "Kompositionspreis 2002,” the "Dordtse Jazz Prize 1998," and the North-Rhine-Westphalia award "Ex- Tempore 96".
