 Angelika Niescier studied music at the Folkwanghochschule in Essen.
Since 1995 she is performing with numerous jazz formations in clubs and on festivals all over Germany.
Her musical spectrum covers solo and duo programs, cooperation in other jazz projects, compostions for theatres and led of her own quartet, as well as interdisciplinary conceptional co-operation with various poets and artists.
Awards and scholarships:
- 1998 Promotion price for music of the city Duesseldorf - 2001 Promotion for Concerts of Female Componists´ from NRW by the National Music Council with the Quartett "Angelika Niescier sublim" - 2002 Promotion of the Donation for Arts NRW for the literature-music project "Resonanzen" - 2002 Scholarship for a jazzmusican from the Ministry for Culture of Nordrhine Westphalia - 2003 Award for Young Artist (composition and instrumental music) from Ministry for Culture of Nordrhine Westphalia
