In the videotraces of Reinhold Knieps colour and founded materials from different films merge and form an entity. Reinhold Knieps videos are not detached, reflexive formulations of the sense. There focal point is in the movements of the elements; space and time stands out as the central theme.

Fragments, extracts detached from the coherence, gain an independence existance. The collage of old film-fragments fused in a new balanced is nothing more than a deconstruction, an evacuation of the former sensory interrelations, and from these fragments in a new, open situation a new sense is put into concrete terms.

A new sensitivity for material, time and space emerges.
